Curation + Styling services are available for both commercial & residential interiors, for finished spaces & those in design/construction. JRDS works directly with clients as well consulting services to other designers & architects.

Billed in blocks of time at an hourly rate or a flat fee contract, dependent on the service, consulting services include anything from interior & exterior color consultation, floral arrangements, furniture concept/selection/specification packages, residential accessory & styling procurement, & a wide array of design services in between!
Design Process
Interior design may appear like an overnight execution according to HGTV, but in reality, good design and interior architecture take time and involve a thoughtful & methodical sequence of steps. For our full service Design Services, plan ahead by getting in touch at least 2-3 months earlier than when you want to start in order for us to discuss your schedule, budget, design aesthetic, etc. This will allow us to assemble a top-quality team, booking the finest builders + craftsmen and order long lead-time items (which are worldwide still running quite long)!
1. Intros
Nice to meet you!
To kick things off, we start with a brief & complementary, intake discovery phone call to discuss schedule, budget, rates, and scope of services desired. If we’re a ‘design fit’, we will schedule an in person working consultation. Sending us a Pinterest board of your style preferences is also highly recommended, which can make our first meeting much more productive!
2. Programming
Information gathering
Billed at an hourly rate (and waived if project moves forward), we meet in person at the project site, tour your space, review your Pinterest board, & gather detailed information for the rooms & areas you want to affect, as well as review and clarify the design process & what to expect. We’ll discuss your individual tastes, lifestyle, & all functionality needs, aka: how you want your space to feel & work. Afterwards Jamie will email you a proposal of services and once signed, we will measure and import the space into CAD for documentation drawings.
3. Schematic
Concept creation
Now the fun begins! This is where our team will build the design concept, start with early initial “look & feel” color & material selections, develop a demolition & new construction plan for architectural changes, create a space-plan for furniture placement with overall furniture & lighting concepts. Designer presents 2 options in schematic presentation to client for approval.
4. Design Development
Honing the details
Design Development dives into the extensive research and specification of architectural finish products, furniture, lighting, fixture, textile and accessory selections to meet the appropriate aesthetic, budget, & schedule of the client. Design team meets with subcontractors & trades to verify viability of all concepts & identify any site challenges for fabrication. Product pricing, lead times, imagery and samples are compiled, and our design team presents all selections, related drawings and budget to the client for approval.
5. CDs & Procurement
Final drawings & ordering
CDs or Construction Documents begin. Architectural drawings are created and refined to submit to the City for permit if necessary. Contractor provides final pricing and construction schedule for labor & procurement of building materials. Client deposits funds for approved products, and designer orders all furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, accessories, as well as tracking and coordinating the many vendors in detailed spreadsheets with regular updates to the client. This is also where shop drawings & custom specifications are coordinated & sent to fabricators to begin their work.
6. Construction Admin.
Construction home stretch!
Demolition and construction begins! Designer approves shop drawings and submittals from contractor for various finish material, appliance, fixture and lighting orders, custom millwork drawings, etc. Designer answers contractor questions that arise, visits site regularly to view progress & completes final architectural ‘punch walk’ for refinement. Furniture and accessories are installed by receiver, and photographs taken of the beautiful transformation!
